Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sigma Mode (Pty) Ltd ("Sigma Mode", "we", "us"), a company registered in South Africa and the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"), handles your personal information when you use Bondis.ai (the "Service"). 1. Information we collect

Account information — email address, display name, password (stored hashed), and subscription status.

Content you create — your conversations with companions, the companions you design, and the memories the Service builds from your conversations.

Payment information — handled by our payment processor; we receive confirmation of payment and plan, not your full card details.

Technical information — IP address, device and browser type, and usage logs needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

We process personal information to: provide the Service (delivering conversations and maintaining your companions' memory); manage your account and billing; secure the platform and prevent abuse; comply with legal obligations; and, with your consent, send you product news. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Conversations and AI processing

Your messages are processed by AI language models to generate companion responses and memories. Where our AI providers are located outside South Africa, your information may be transferred across borders; we only do so where the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements that provide protection substantially similar to POPIA, as required by section 72 of POPIA.

4. Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under written agreements (hosting, AI model providers, payment processing, email delivery), where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of users. Operators act under our instructions and confidentiality obligations as required by POPIA.

5. Security

In line with section 19 of POPIA, we maintain appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and audit logging. Should a data breach occur that is likely to cause harm, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected users as required by section 22 of POPIA.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. You can export or permanently delete your companions, memories and chat history from your account settings at any time. Deleting your account removes your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, after which it persists only in encrypted backups for a limited period before being purged.

7. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction or deletion of inaccurate or unlawfully held information; object to processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) — inforegulator.org.za, enquiries@inforegulator.org.za. 8. Cookies

This marketing site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The Bondis.ai application uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

9. Age restriction

Bondis.ai is for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly process the personal information of children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date, and where appropriate by email.
